About Me: Dr. Aritra Santra has completed his B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University, IISc Bangalore and Monash University, respectively. He has been awarded Prof. N R Kuloor Gold Medal for the best Masters student in Chemical Engineering from IISc. After completion of his Ph.D., he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Levich Institute in the City College of New York with Prof. Jeffrey Morris and currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. His research interest lies in the field of soft matter physics, including polymer physics and rheology of dense shear thickening suspensions. Specifically, Dr. Santra’s research involves Brownian dynamics simulations, DEM and experimental rheology to study systems of polymer solutions and shear thickening suspensions.
