About Me: Dr. Soumyabrata Barik received his Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India, in 2019. He completed his M. Tech from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut, India, with a specialization in Power Systems. He completed his B. Tech from Kalyani Government Engineering College in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Barik is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. Prior to joining IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, he also served as an Assistant Professor at Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa, in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. His broad research area includes the integration of renewable energy in distribution networks, optimal operation of microgrids with renewable energy, charging and discharging strategies of EV, BMS, and application of soft computing techniques in power system studies.
