About Me: Dr. Vinay Kumar Rajak is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He did his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering in 2007 from the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, India. He did his M. Tech in Petroleum Engineering in 2009 from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He obtained his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering in 2017 from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. After doing the master’s degree, he joined as an Assistant Professor in Department of Petroleum Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad in the year 2010. Since his joining he has involved in teaching many courses to UG, PG and Ph.D. students. The name of courses taught by him are Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Technology, Drilling Fluids & Cements, Oil & Gas Field Development & Planning, Pipeline Engineering, Well Intervention and Stimulation Techniques, Well Servicing, Well Performance & Artificial Lift Techniques, Health Safety & Environment in Petroleum Industry, Petroleum Environment, Health and Safety Practices etc. His research area is mainly focused on drilling fluids, geothermal, well integrity, CCUS and other areas of upstream petroleum industry. He has published 20 SCI research papers and 01 conference paper. He has successfully executed 01 external R&D projects and 01 consultancy project as a PI. Currently he is handling 01 R&D project (MATRICS) awarded by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) of Government of India. He has guided more than 20 M. Tech students. He has guided 01 Ph.D. student in the research area of drilling fluids. He is presently guiding 05 Ph.D. students as supervisor and 04 Ph.D. student as Co-supervisor.
