About Me: Prof. V. Mukherjee is currently working in the capacity of Associate Professor in Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, where he has been since 2009. From 2014 to 2019, he served as Faculty-in-charge of Training and Placement Committee. He served as Associate Dean (Academic) – PG from April 01, 2019 to April 30, 2022. He is Lab-in-charge of Electrical Machines Lab. From 1995 to 2002, he worked as Assistant Manager in NICCO Corporation Limited, Shyamnagar, West Bengal. He worked as a faculty in Asansol Engineering College from 2002 to 2009. He received his B.E degree from University of Calcutta in 1993, M.E degree from Bengal Engineering College (Deemed University), Shibpur, West Bengal in 1995 and M.B.A from University of Calcutta in 2001. He received his Ph. D from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur in 2008. His research interests span optimization and power system issues. He has developed various algorithms for load and frequency control of multiple types of power systems. He has explored various types of power system problems including the renewable power systems for better reliability to the consumers. In addition, he has worked on improving the quality of the power during voltage deviations of the power supply. Prof. Mukherjee is the author of more than 200 papers in various international journals of repute and also serves as the rreviewer of reputed peer reviewed international journals including IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IET GTD, IJEPES. He has guided 35 Ph. D. scholars and 50 P.G. students till date. He has published the book entitled “Basic Electrical Engineering” from Khanna Publishers, New Delhi, India. He has been awarded as “Top 2% Scientists Worldwide” in the years 2021 to 2024. Prof. Mukherjee is a Member of The Institution of Engineers (India).
