About Me: Prof. Brijesh Kumar Mishra is an Associate Professor at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, specializing in Environmental Science & Engineering. A faculty member since 2011, he holds a Ph.D. from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and an M.Tech from MNNIT Allahabad. His expertise spans water and wastewater treatment, mine environment management, industrial waste utilization, Fly ash management, Environmental audit and pollution mitigation. Prof. Mishra has led 16 research projects (14 completed, 2 ongoing) funded by DST, MoEF&CC, Ministry of Jal Shakti, and Ministry of Coal, focusing on sustainable water treatment, pollution risk assessment, and resource recovery. He has completed 40+ consultancy assignments for major organizations like Hindalco, Lloyds Metals, Coal India, NMDC, MPL, DVC, Tata Steel, Lanco, CSEB, Matrix Fertilizer, Tata Consultancy, Ministry of Jal Shakti and others, covering environmental impact assessments, mine water management, ash dyke stability, and industrial waste treatment. His research includes 50+ SCI journal papers, 11 book chapters, 32 conference papers, and one patent on heavy metal removal and energy storage applications. Prof. Mishra has mentored 9 Ph.D. scholars (7 as a sole guide), currently supervising 14 Ph.D. candidates, along with 24 M.Tech and 10 M.Sc graduates. Beyond academia, he engages in policy development, industry training, and international conferences, driving sustainable environmental solutions across academia, industry, and government.
